Pontus Jansson posts emotional Twitter message to Leeds fans

Pontus Jansson has apologised to Leeds fans on Twitter in the wake of the team’s 2-0 Championship defeat to Brentford on Tuesday night.
The Sweden international was recalled to the starting XI after missing the Yorkshire giants’ two previous games, one through injury and one after being axed.
Jansson lined up alongside regular centre-back partner Kyle Bartley but the division’s outstanding defensive duo were unable to prevent the team succumbing to a second consecutive loss.
Jansson stayed quiet immediately after the match at Griffin Park but took to his personal Twitter account on Wednesday morning to express an emotional response, “not much more to say than sorry for our performance yesterday”.

Despite the setback at Griffin Park, Garry Monk’s side remain on course for a place in the end-of-season play-offs.
They are fifth in the Championship table, five points ahead of Fulham in seventh, with six matches of the campaign remaining.
Jansson is set to remain in the Leeds side for the rest of the season, after Liam Cooper was ruled out for all but one of the league fixtures with a six-match ban.
Cooper served the first game of his suspension on Tuesday night when he was omitted from the squad for the Brentford match.
In other Leeds transfer news, the club have sealed an out-of-window midfielder transfer.
