Pontus Jansson delivers heartfelt Instagram message to Leeds fans

Pontus Jansson has thanked Leeds fans for their “amazing support” as he continues to inspire Leeds’ promotion hunt.

The 25-year-old defender has been magnificent at the heart of the Leeds defence with a number of crucial displays alongside fellow loanee Kyle Bartley.

Posting on his personal Instagram account, the on-loan Torino defender revealed the importance of the Yorkshire giants’ fan base as Leeds continue their sparkling league form.

The Sweden international kept his ninth clean sheet of the campaign on Monday, as the Yorkshire giants made it four wins in five with a 3-0 victory over Yorkshire rivals Rotherham.

Already a fan favourite with the Leeds fans, Jansson has even got his name on the scoresheet twice with goals against Aston Villa and Norwich.

Swedish publication Fotbollskanalen revealed that Jansson is set to complete a permanent switch to Elland Road in two games’ time after agent Martin Dahlin confirmed a deal was in place that would see Jansson sign after his 22nd appearance.

Leeds’ number 18 had made it clear that he believed his future was in Yorkshire and is now set to be given his wish in a £3.4million switch.

Jansson could now move one game closer to the all-important number of 22 games, with Leeds looking to secure a place in the fourth round of the FA Cup with a win against League Two outfit Cambridge United on Monday.
