Postecoglou could be distracted by Celtic man exit pre-Betis - pundit
The turmoil in the Celtic boardroom could distract Ange Postecoglou from his job, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker insisted Postecoglou needs to put Dom McKay’s shock exit to one side and focus on Celtic’s Europa League opener against Real Betis.
Celtic confirmed on September 10 that McKay had left his role as chief executive for “personal reasons” after only formally taking over the position in July.
The Athletic reported on September 12 he had played a key role in bringing Postecolgou to the club after negotiations with Eddie Howe broke down.
It is also claimed McKay felt his authority was being undermined as board members disagreed with his vision of the future of Celtic.
As quoted by the Daily Record on the day of the 43-year-old’s departure, Postecoglou admitted he “was surprised as anyone that Dom resigned”.

Asked whether McKay’s exit could have a destabilising effect on the Hoops boss, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “It can do.
“But all the manager can do is coach his players, that’s his job. Leave all the stuff that’s happening upstairs to sort itself out.
“It can distract you but you have to try and put it to one side.
“Celtic now look a good team under him but it’s still very early for him.”
The Bhoys begin the Europa League group stage with a trip to Seville.
They have failed to reach the knockout rounds in the previous two campaigns and finished bottom of their group last term.
