Ange Postecoglou is not under an immediate threat of being sacked at Tottenham, sources have told Football Insider.

Speculation has ramped up about the 59-year-old's Spurs future in the wake of their 4-3 loss at home against Chelsea on Sunday (8 December).

Tottenham also lost against Bournemouth on Thursday (5 December) and drew against Fulham on 1 December to leave them 11th in the Premier League table after 15 games.

Postecoglou clashed with Spurs fans after the Cherries clash on the south coast, but sources say club chiefs feel he still has "credit in the bank" at the club.

He will remain in place for the trip to 20th-place Southampton on Sunday (15 December).

It is believed particular focus will be placed on performances in the League Cup and Europa League, where Tottenham are currently going strong.

Spurs face Rangers in Europe on Thursday (12 December) and will play Man United in the quarter-final of the League Cup next week.

Postecoglou set to remain in place at Tottenham

Postecgolou has been bullish about the chances of landing silverware for the Lilywhites - who last won a trophy in 2008.

He led the club to a fifth-place finish in the 2023-24 campaign - his first in charge at the London club.

The Australian ex-Celtic boss is under contract in north London until June 2027.

He has overseen 11 wins from 22 games across all competitions so far this term, with just six of those victories coming in the English top flight.
