Since Steven Gerrard took over at Rangers, things have been quiet from Celtic, whilst their biggest rivals have stolen the headlines with various signings.
That could be about to change though, as the Daily Record are reporting that the Hoops are preparing to smash their transfer record to bring Odsonne Edouard to the club on a permanent basis.
A signing of that magnitude would be a perfect response from Brendan Rodgers and company to all of the noise coming out of Ibrox.
It would show that the Hoops mean business going forward, as if they are willing to spend over £6million on a player it shows that they have no intention of giving up their Scottish Premiership title anytime soon.
A permanent deal for Edouard also gives a little reminder to the Gers that when it comes to spending money on players, the Bhoys are in a different league to the rest of Scottish football, and no one can match their spending power.
The Hoops might have been quiet so far this summer, only releasing brief statements on matters like tickets, but a transfer like the Edouard one has the possibility to be a game-changer if it indeed goes ahead.
The Bhoys look ready to spend big money at last, and if they continue to make big money signings then their domination of Scottish football looks set to continue.
