New manager Jose Mourinho is looking to turn the tide this season but will have to inspire his team to a response after losing to Atletico Madrid before the break.

Real Madrid will face the up and coming Villarreal, who look to have finally found their feet under young and talented new manager Inigo Perez.

In the last meeting between Real Madrid and Villarreal, Samuel Chukwueze's brace inspired a Villarreal comeback from 2-1 down to win 3-2 at the end of the 2022-23 season.

Villarreal will be aiming to perform a similar feat this time and may well face a Real Madrid side without their main weapon, Kylian Mbappe, after he was injured on international duty.

Step forward Jude Bellingham, who has scored three goals and provided two assists in just seven games so far this season and is arguably his team's biggest goal threat beyond Mbappe.
