Ipswich Town are set to welcome Nottingham Forest to Portman Road as the next round of Premier League fixtures kick off.

Gary O'Neil's side have the chance to move within touching distance of the European spots if they can claim all three points on Friday, 23 October.

The Reds, on the other hand, will be desperate to avoid defeat on the road, currently sitting 19th in the Premier League table after seven games.

Oliver Glasner's side are on a three-game losing streak against Coventry City, Crystal Palace and Arsenal, but the stats behind the defeats are positive.

The former Palace boss is coming under heavy fire at the City Ground, while the manager in the home dugout has done an immense job so far.

It is quite the set-up for a night under the lights at Portman Road, but there is no guarantee that all fans will be in attendance thanks to the weather.

Ipswich Town vs Nottingham Forest impacted by UK weather

The UK's weather has taken a turn for the worse after record temperatures during the summer, and the game could be impacted as a result.

Ahead of the match, the Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning across most of the country, and that includes Ipswich.

Storm Austen is set to bring spell of strong winds and gales at times, which could cause loss of power and bus and train services to be delayed.

Many are being advised to make amends to their travel plans to avoid disappointment when travelling, and that will concern match-going fans as well.

Walking out in the storm could be just as dangerous. So, while the game being postponed should not be a concern, getting to the game on time is.

Gary O'Neil vs Oliver Glasner: Who will be sacked next?

Looking at underlying stats, anyone who hasn't watched their individual performances would think that Forest would be above Ipswich.

That is far from the truth, though, and as a result, Glasner is currently the fourth-favourite manager next to be sacked in the Premier League at 14/1.

Mick Brown has told Football Insider that it's already the "beginning of the end" for the new manager, which is where the Tractor Boys were expected to be right now.

Ipswich weren't given any hope of securing Premier League safety, but with O'Neil priced at 33/1 to be the next manager sacked, confidence is high at Portman Road.
