Supercomputer predicts Ipswich Town will be one of the three clubs relegated from the Premier League

Sky Sports has once again attempted to predict who will be relegated from the Premier League this season.

All three of the promoted sides will be looking to avoid the dreaded drop in the 2026-27 campaign, with Coventry City, Ipswich Town and Hull City all returning to the top-flight.

However, the supercomputer has predicted that all three sides will face an immediate return to the Championship come the end of the season.

Newly promoted sides have had a rotten time in the Premier League in recent years, with Leeds United and Sunderland the only two teams out of the last nine to maintain their place.

Coventry, Ipswich and Hull will have taken encouragement from this feat, with the Premier League becoming increasingly hard to compete in.

Nevertheless, the supercomputer believes all three clubs are in for a disappointing campaign.

Sky Sports’ supercomputer cannot see a world where all three promoted sides maintain their places in the Premier League this season.

Hull City are predicted to finish bottom, with an 81.7 per cent chance of being relegated.

While Coventry and Ipswich are predicted to put up more of a fight, both will still go down, with the former club having a 43.1 per cent chance of going down, while the latter has a 47.5 per cent chance.

Despite appointing Oliver Glasner this summer, Nottingham Forest are predicted to struggle once again, with a 43.1 per cent chance of relegation as they finish 17^th.

Crystal Palace are predicted to finish in 16^th place with a total of 32.8 per cent chance of returning to the Championship, while Sunderland are expected to fall down to 15^th, with 22.4 per cent chance of finishing in the bottom three.

From here, every other club has a less than 10 per cent chance of being relegated.

Are Nottingham Forest really in trouble?

On the face of it, Forest’s chance of being relegated seems slim.

The club have just brought in Glasner, who had been highly successful at Palace and delivered three major trophies.

On top of this, despite fighting relegation for most of the previous campaign, Forest still ended the season in a European semi-final and with 44 points in the Premier League.

However, there are still ways this season can go wrong.

The loss of Elliot Anderson will be huge for Forest, no matter what, and the club has only brought in three new signings to date.

On top of this, Evangelos Marinakis is not afraid of a sacking at Forest, and if Glasner gets off to a bad start, another, less-experienced manager could be through the door.

Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if Forest truly are a relegation contender for the upcoming campaign.
