Premier League clubs in race to sign Theo Le Bris

Lorient star Theo Le Bris is a target for several Premier League clubs in the closing stages of the summer window, sources have told Football Insider.

The 23-year-old also has significant interest from clubs in the Championship, as a queue is forming to take him to England.

Le Bris is predominantly a right wing-back by trade, but can play anywhere across the midfield and defence.

The starlet is out of contract at Lorient in June 2027, and sources have indicated that he is available at a cut-price fee as a result.

The youngster is the nephew of Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris, and could soon be about to follow his uncle into English football.

Le Bris is a former France U20 international, and notched four goal involvements from 28 appearances in Ligue 1 last term.

Sunderland facing 'massive loss of revenue'

Former Manchester City financial advisor Stefan Borson told Football Insider at the start of August that Sunderland weere facing a "massive loss of revenue" if they couldn't get a new shirt sponsorship agreed.

The Black Cats are one of just two Premier League clubs who still don't have a new deal agreed, despite the season having already kicked off.

Borson made it clear that Le Bris' side will lose at least £10million from their yearly revenue if they cannot find a suiotor.

He outlined that figure would also be at the lower end of the scale, with the Black Cats potentially missing out on an even more lucrative fee.
