Pundit '100%' backs Leeds to seal deal for 'perfect Phillips replacement' after reported update
Gabby Agbonlahor has backed Leeds United in their pursuit of Fulham star Harrison Reed.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward insisted the midfielder would be the “perfect” replacement for Kalvin Phillips when he’s injured or suspended.
The Daily Mail reported on June 9 that Leeds have been tracking the 26-year-old with a view to a potential transfer this summer.
Reed caught the eye playing for Fulham despite them suffering relegation in the recently completed Premier League season.
The 26-year-old ended the campaign with 33 appearances across all competitions, including 26 Premier League starts.
He made his move to the Cottagers permanently last summer for a reported £6million fee after spending the previous season on loan from Southampton.

The Englishman could provide the perfect foil for Phillips as Leeds struggled without him.
In the nine Premier League games he missed last term, the Whites lost seven times and won just twice.
Asked whether Reed would be good competition for Phillips, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “100 per cent.
“He’d fit perfectly into that Leeds team when Phillips is injured or suspended. He’s a perfect replacement.
“If Bielsa likes him, it’s open they have to do because he’s definitely got the quality to stay in the Premier League.”
Reed now has 48 Premier League games under his belt across his time with Fulham and Southampton.
He has provided two assists in that time but is yet to find the net.
