Pundit backs West Ham to complete 'perfect' Jovic signing after major update
Noel Whelan has suggested West Ham could convince Luka Jovic to join from Real Madrid with the lure of living in London.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Leeds striker suggested the 23-year-old would be a “perfect fit” for the Irons.
Eurosport claim (August 10th) the Hammers are long-term admirers of Jovic and are considering a move this month.
It is said the Serbian hitman does not feature in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans at the Bernabeu.
Jovic spent the second half of last season on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt, the club he joined Real from back in 2019.
Whelan admitted the striker’s capture would be an excellent bit of business for West Ham.

He suggested the chance to live in London could swing things in the Irons’ favour.
Asked if he thought West Ham could lure Jovic to the London Stadium, Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Absolutely. The chance to live in London, this is what foreign players want.
“When they’ve been at big clubs and places like Madrid, they want the capital kind of living down there. It’s a great opportunity.
“If West Ham can get this one over the line or pull it out the hat if he’s surplus requirements, then I’m sure both parties can come to an agreement.
“It might just be the perfect fit. Wow, what a bit of business that would be for West Ham.”
Jovic scored four goals in 18 Bundesliga appearances for Frankfurt during his half-season loan spell last term.
He has played a total of 32 times for Real Madrid, with just two goals under his belt.
