Paul Robinson has slammed the "consistency" of officiating after Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was sent off against Man City.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one cannot believe the officials failed to spot Bernardo Silva's foul on Mohamed Salah.

As pictured by DaveOCKOP (16 October), Bernardo pulled Salah to the ground in the second half of Liverpool's 1-0 win over City.

The officials did not penalise Bernardo for the infringement, despite the fact the linesman was in close attendance.

Jurgen Klopp was sent off shortly after for his reaction to the incident.

The Reds boss was incensed by the decision not to penalise Bernardo for the challenge.

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the controversial incident at Anfield on Sunday, Robinson said: "It was unbelievable.

"The word we keep coming back to is consistency. We see 10 different ways of officiating from 10 different referees on a weekend. We should at least have consistency within the same match.

"I know Anthony Taylor wanted to let things go in the game but the challenge from Bernardo Silva on Salah has to be a foul.

"Klopp was sent off afterwards because he is a passionate manager that gets involved on the touchline. When you watch the clip you can understand why he was angry and why he got sent off."
