Gareth Bale may have ruined any chances of a possible Tottenham return after recent comments about his future.
That is according to former Leeds striker Noel Whelan who, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested other suitors may also take a dim view on his attitude.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Bale revealed he planned to return to Real Madrid at the end of his loan spell at Spurs and after the European Championship.

He stated he had returned to Tottenham to build his fitness ahead of the Euros.
However, despite having a year left on his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu, his chances of re-establishing himself among Zinedine Zidane’s side seem slim.
He plummeted down the pecking order in Madrid last season and featured just twice in the club’s final 14 games.
Bale has continued to struggle for game time at Spurs, with just six league starts under his belt so far.
Whelan questioned the Wales winger’s attitude and suggested his comments may not only rule out a move back to Spurs but to any other clubs this summer.
Discussing a potential return, Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Hah. It’s very unlikely after that sort of comment I would presume.
“Has he lost a little bit of fight? Because it seems to me that he just wants to drift through football at the minute. Not nail down a position at a club or turn something into something really good for himself.
“It’s not really showing much desire and fight within himself, quite frankly.
“It seems like he’s more than happy just drifting through whatever contract he’s got left. Then deciding himself what he wants to do.
“It certainly doesn’t put out a great picture about him if anybody else is gonna take a chance on him.”
