Pundit blasts Levy after Kane goes public over Tottenham pain
Harry Kane will not sign a new contract at Tottenham and will re-ignite his push for an exit next summer.
That is the view of 2000 European Golden Shoe winner Kevin Phillips, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 28-year-old’s latest comments on this summer’s transfer saga.
Spurs rejected two bids in excess of £100million from Premier League champions Manchester City for Kane in the window just gone.
The England captain has been widely criticised for attempting to engineer a move away from north London when he still has three years remaining on his contract.
However, Kane told talkSPORT last Tuesday he has gone into the new season with a ‘clear conscience’ despite the events that unfolded.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs to unpick the striker’s comments, Sky Sports pundit Phillips said:

“I heard what he said and yeah, reading between the lines, you would say Daniel Levy has broken a gentleman’s agreement. If Kane is sleeping easy at night he is obviously laying the blame somewhere else.
“We don’t know the facts but to hear that from Harry says a lot. I’m pretty sure he is hinting towards a gentleman’s agreement being broken.
“Harry may not be happy about it but he won’t throw his toys out of the pram. He will knuckle down and do what he does best which is score goals.
“We will see what happens come the summer. I don’t see him signing a new deal. I think he’ll be angling for a move again next summer. I’d be very surprised if he extended.”
