Pundit can't believe what Klopp has just said about Liverpool star Origi
Noel Whelan has admitted his surprise over Jurgen Klopp’s recent comments on Liverpool forward Divock Origi.
The former Leeds hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted as the Reds boss talked about his plans for the forward.
As quoted by Sky Sports (16 September), Klopp revealed he was surprised by the lack of interest in the “sensational” Origi during the summer transfer window.
The Reds boss admitted he was braced for a “proper offer” for the attacker but he remains at Anfield.
Origi, 26, made his first appearance of the season on Wednesday night as Liverpool beat AC Milan and he provided an excellent assist for Mo Salah as he levelled the game at 2-2.
He also made his first Premier League appearance of the season on Saturday as Liverpool beat Crystal Palace.

Whelan insists Liverpool should keep hold of Origi as he provides a very different option to Klopp.
“He just needs to play regularly,” Whelan told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I’m surprised Liverpool offered him away to be honest. That really surprises me. Why did he [Klopp] say that?
“His stats from last season aren’t great but that’s what happens when you are a striker and you aren’t playing regularly.
“That’s where the problem lies. Getting confidence and sharpness it’s almost impossible if you aren’t playing week in week in out.
“I think they should keep hold of him. He’s more of a target and a different option to the other attackers. He can be vital for them at times.
“They lose a lot of depth with him not there and they need him for when Salah and Mane go to the cup of nations.
“There wasn’t really talk of Liverpool signing anyone as well. It would have made no sense to sell him.”
