Pundit claims 'spanner in the works' at Tottenham after 'all of a sudden' Harry Kane development
Julian Nagelsmann’s comments on Harry Kane are “the last thing Tottenham need” with the new Premier League season just a week away.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the striker’s future.
As per Sky Sports (23 July), Bayern Munich boss Nagelsmann has opened the door on a future move for the England captain during a press conference.
He claimed Kane would “score a lot” in the Bundesliga, before adding “we will see what happens in the future” – as speculation continues about a possible transfer next summer.
Antonio Conte was left furious with the comments and called Bayern “disrespectful” in his own press conference on 25 July.
Kenny claims the comments have thrown a spanner into the works at Spurs.

“It’s disappointing from Bayern Munich,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“This is the last thing Tottenham neeed with Kane trying to push through a move to Man City last summer.
“Everything has been quiet this year and everything is going in the right direction then someone throws a spanner in the works.
“Bayern are interested all of a sudden. I think Kane will stay, Tottenham are on the up, for me. They have an amazing new stadium, they love the manager and they have made some really good signings.
“They are going to be up there pushing the top three this season. I would be disappointed with Bayern if I was Tottenham.”
Kane scored 17 goals in 37 Premier League appearances during the 2021-22 season.
He also supplied his teammates with nine assists.
