Pundit digs at Jack Grealish after 'devastating' Man City source news - 'he's got to accept it'

Kevin Campbell has claimed Jack Grealish has “got to accept” his role as a rotation option for Man City.

The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 27-year-old must take his lack of starts “on the chin” if he wants to be “part of a winning squad”.

Man City sources told this site on Friday (18 November) that Grealish is struggling to come to terms with his second-string status at and fears manager Pep Guardiola is willing to sell him next year.

The player is said by friends to have been “gutted” and “devastated” by not getting a single minute in big games like the 1-0 loss against Liverpool in October.

The England international, who scored in the Three Lions’ 6-2 rout of Iran on Monday (21 November) has started just six of the Citizens’ 14 Premier League games this season.

Grealish, who cost Man City a reported £100million last summer (2021), has netted one goal in the 2022-23 campaign.

Campbell cited Kevin De Bruyne – who is often an unexpected victim of Pep Guardiola’s rotation policy.

He told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “When you go to Man City, you’ve got to expect that.

“Man City are involved in every competition and they want to win every competition. There are a lot of games, and you won’t play every week.

“Just look at Kevin De Bruyne. Sometimes he’s sat on the bench. He won’t like being on the bench, but it’s just about rotation.

“Grealish has got to take it on the chin a little bit.

“If he wants to be part of a winning squad, he’s got to accept that he won’t play every game.”
