Pundit drops 'massive' Victor Osimhen verdict after Newcastle United swap deal report
Newcastle United face a "massive" struggle if they want to sign Victor Osimhen in the upcoming transfer windows.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender suggested that the conditions of a deal could prove difficult for Newcastle to execute.
According to Italian outlet Sport Italia (29 September), Eddie Howe's side could look to offer a player-plus-cash deal for the Napoli striker.
The 24-year-old has two years remaining on his contract with the Serie A side but could look for a way out as early as January after the club mocked their star man on their social media channels.
The report suggested that Newcastle are considering a deal that would include Alexander Isak plus-cash to secure the Napoli goalscorer.
Isak's current contract at St James' Park runs until 2028 after he joined from Real Sociedad in a £63million deal last summer and has been an important player for the Magpies.
When asked what he thought about a potential swap deal including Isak and Osimhen, Hutton told Football Insider: "It all comes down to, if that is the deal, does Isak want to go there?
"If he does not that is a massive shortfall.
"I think Osimhen is an outstanding player, I saw him last season against Rangers. They won the league and he was a massive part of that.
"It all comes down to what fee do they want and if it is plus player, does that player want to leave?"
