Pundit Exclusive: PL clubs tipped to swoop for 'Fantastic' Celtic player in January
Noel Whelan is adamant Premier League clubs will look to sign Ryan Christie in January after the Celtic midfielder starred against Aberdeen on Sunday.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, the former Leeds United striker claimed that “people will be keeping tabs” on the “fantastic” 25-year-old with a view to a move in January or next summer.
The Scotland international scored a sublime goal in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup last weekend as the Hoops booked their place in the final with a 2-0 victory at Hampden Park.
The Daily Record reported in September that Burnley were interested in signing the Christie with Sean Dyche a long-term admirer of the attacking midfielder.
Christie, who has 12 goal involvements in his 16 appearances this term, has two years remaining on his contract at Celtic Park.
When asked by Football Insider if his performance on Sunday would have turned a few heads, Whelan said:

“Celtic have got an array of great players there, Ryan Christie is just one of them.
“We know what he can do on the ball. He is a fantastic player and it was of no surprise to me that Premier League clubs were interested in him last summer.
“People will be keeping tabs on his performances, especially if he plays as well as he did against Aberdeen.
“Premier League clubs may be thinking about a move in January and if not then, the end of the season.”
In other Celtic news, it can be REVEALED how much it will cost the club to sign Diego Laxalt permanently.
