New Celtic and Rangers development tipped to 'decide the title' after Sky update - pundit
VAR could hand Celtic or Rangers the Scottish Premiership title in the future, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker delivered his verdict after the SPFL and SFA took a major step forward
The two co-hosted a meeting at Hampden between Scottish Premiership clubs last Friday (October 8) to discuss the introduction of the technology.
Ex-Premier League referee Howard Webb addressed the meeting after he played a key role in introducing VAR in MLS.
Webb told Sky Sports the Scottish Premiership clubs were “broadly supportive” of its introduction in Scotland.
A formal proposal over how to introduce the technology in the top flight and at certain cup ties is now set to be finalised before being put to a vote.

Asked whether introducing VAR in Scotland is a good idea, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I think it is.
“Scotland were given a goal [against Isreal] that was rightly given after Lyndon Dykes with his foot that wasn’t high.
“That might be something, in the Scottish Premiership, this decides the title.
“The Scottish Premiership deserves the respect to have VAR. I’m all for it.
“I’m sure all the managers are in favour too because nine times out of 10 VAR is going to make the right decision.”
Back in December 2019, Rangers released an official statement calling for VAR to be introduced.
The introduction of the technology will cost Premiership clubs £80,000-a-season.
