Pundit 'extremely worried' about Newcastle after 'huge' Howe reveal today
Newcastle will be “extremely worried” about the threat of relegation if they cannot win at least one of their next two games, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted manager Eddie Howe will be “desperate” to kickstart his Magpies reign.
Newcastle face Norwich at St James’ Park tomorrow (30 November) before hosting Burnley on Saturday (4 December).
Speaking at his pre-Canaries press conference (November 29th), Howe claimed it would be “dangerous” to think about the implications of failing to take maximum points in the relegation six-pointers.
Newcastle remain the only winless side in England’s top four divisions following their 2-0 defeat against Arsenal on Saturday.
Whelan insisted it will be a “big kick in the teeth” if the Magpies fail to change that this week.

“These are huge games, and it will be a big kick in the teeth if they don’t come away with their first win,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“They will be extremely worried if they can’t get that win under their belt in these six-pointers. This is huge.
“Eddie Howe will be desperate to kick off his new regime and you can only do that with a win. It just depends on how they can handle the pressure. We know the fans at Newcastle are demanding. They just have to suck it up.
“They have to get three to four points from these two games.”
Newcastle sit rock bottom of the Premier League with just six points after 13 games.
The Magpies have conceded 29 goals this term – the most in the top flight.
