Pundit hails 'brilliant move' as Kane backed to sign new Tottenham deal
Paddy Kenny claims offering a new contract to Harry Kane is the best move for Tottenham after the player failed to join Man City this summer.
The former Leeds stopper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to the latest on Kane’s situation.
Eurosport reported on 14 September that Kane would consider signing a new deal after he failed to force an exit in the summer.
However, it was also reported any new deal would have to include a release clause.
Spurs chief Daniel Levy typically prefers not to enter into arrangements that could mean he surrenders the upper hand in future transfer negotiations.
Kenny claims a new deal for Kane would suit both the club and player while also giving both parties plenty of options.

“I’m not sure if he is the highest earner at Tottenham right now,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“He definitely will be if he signs a new contract. Regardless of a release clause, if it’s a deal everyone is happy with, why not do it?
“If there is a release clause it won’t be cheap. It gives Kane that chance to leave if Tottenham don’t push on and win anything this season.
“He’s always the top goalscorer but Tottenham never win anything. It will be a brilliant move for everyone if they get that sorted.
“Tottenham are covering their backs and Kane gets that chance to leave.”
Kane has returned to the fold at Tottenham after failing to force a move to Manchester City.
However, he is yet to open his account for this Premier League season.
