Pundit hails ex-Celtic star Tierney as Arsenal main man 'who could play for any team in the world'
Kieran Tierney is the key to future success for Arsenal after a string of ‘magnificent’ performances.
That’s according to former West Ham and Celtic hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the left-back.
Tierney turned in an excellent performance as Arsenal beat local rivals Tottenham 3-1 last weekend.
He has started every league game this season as the Gunners started poorly but recovered form over their last three games.
The defender signed a new long-term deal this summer after being recognised as a key player by Mikel Arteta.
McAvennie insists Tierney could play for any side in the world and rates him higher than Man United’s Luke Shaw.

“He’s the key for Arsenal,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He’s a big, big player. The fitter he gets, I think he can play for absolutely anyone.
“Tierney can go all the way, I think he’s better than Luke Shaw at Manchester United.
“There is no doubt in my mind he could make that step up. He could play for any club in the world.
“I can’t think of a left-back I would play ahead of him, I think he’s on a par with Andy Robertson.
“He has been magnificent all season, he’s never one of the ones who gets criticised.
“It’s always Aubameyang or Xhaka, never Tierney. He’s a model professional and he’s so important to that side.”
Arsenal overtook their local rivals after Sunday’s derby win.
The Gunners travel to Brighton this weekend looking to make it four wins from four in the league.
