Pundit hails 'great news' as BBC report Alisson and Fabinho twist amid Liverpool talks
Kevin Campbell has praised Liverpool for their “strong squad” after fresh selection concerns surfaced during the international break.
The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the Reds have enough talent in their ranks to deal with their availability problems.
The BBC today reported (September 8th) that Liverpool are negotiating with FIFA after Brazillian trio Alisson, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino were banned for Sunday’s fixture against Leeds.
According to the report, the club were unwilling to let the trio travel to Brazil – which is on the UK’s red travel list.
As such, the Brazillian FA triggered a FIFA rule which prevents the key men from taking part in the weekend’s clash.
The predicament is affecting five other Premier League stars.

Liverpool were also handed another cruel blow over the international break.
Harvey Elliott was forced to withdraw from the England under-21 squad with an injury.
Campbell conceded the situation was not ideal but maintained that the Merseyside club had the depth to overcome the crisis.
“It is a worry, but Liverpool have got a strong squad, which is great news for them,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“The players coming in are title winners.
“Whether it’s injury or Covid affecting the players, you have to be able to move and shake your squad.
“If it wasn’t on international duty, it might have been during a game with Liverpool – so hindsight is a great thing.
“If you go out and purchase players as backup, those players will want to play. It’s a hard thing to juggle.
“I think Liverpool will be alright.”
The Reds are yet to suffer defeat in the Premier League this season.
They picked up a point against title rivals Chelsea in their last outing.
