Pundit in awe of 'very rare' Smith-Rowe after 'dream' Arsenal reveal
Noel Whelan has branded Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe “the full midfield package” after his dazzling form this term.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 21-year-old is in line for an England call-up.
Smith Rowe shone again against Aston Villa last Friday, grabbing a goal and an assist as Arsenal ran out 3-1 winners.
Quoted by the London Evening Standard on Friday (October 22nd), the England U21 international insisted he’d “love” to stay with the Gunners “forever”.
He responded to speculation surrounding a Three Lions call-up, insisting it would be a “dream” to represent his country.
Smith Rowe signed a contract extension until 2026 in July of this year.

Whelan insisted the youngster was the north London side’s “catalyst” last season with his impressive performances.
“He’s got everything you’d want for a midfield player,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“He’s got the energy, tenacity and definitely has the quality – he can come up with assists and goals too.
“All in all, he’s the full midfield package. He can take the game by the scruff of the neck with his leadership and character, which at his age is very rare.
“Last season we saw him take the Premier League by storm – he was Arsenal’s catalyst and was playing like their captain, almost, the way he dragged them through the season.
“He’s definitely got the England squad written all over him.
“For a young player given so much responsibility, he’s proven he can handle that and use it well.”
Smith Rowe made his first league start for Arsenal in late 2019.
The Arsenal academy product has scored two and provided two in nine Premier League games this season.
