Pundit issues 'incredible' Everton claim - 'it's happening quite soon'

Everton cannot afford to be relegated as “phenomenal” work continues on their new Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

The club is due to move into its 52,888-seater stadium in time for the 2024-25 season, but owner Farhad Moshiri is now seeking external investment to fund the project.

The Guardian reported last Sunday (13 November) that the Toffees face a fine that could run into the hundreds of millions if they fail to find the funds for the stadium as they will need to restore the site to its original state.

Wenham insists the work already completed on the project is “phenomenal”.

“The move to Bramley-Moore Docks is actually happening quite soon in the grand scheme of things,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“By the way, the progress being made on that is phenomenal, absolutely incredible. It looks really good already and the work they are doing, they must be working on it literally all of the time because it is flying up.

“They have to make sure they are a Premier League side when they move into it because that ground should not be in the Championship.

“But, as I say, it looks good and certainly looks to be an upgrade on Goodison Park.”

Everton have only won once in their last eight games across all competitions.

They are just one place and one point above the bottom three after losing 3-0 to Bournemouth last weekend (12 November).
