Pundit: Leeds in 'big danger' after Phillips blunder
Leeds United are in “big danger” of suffering relegation this season, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Leeds made a big mistake in the summer by not signing adequate cover for Kalvin Phillips, Patrick Bamford and Raphinha.
The influential trio did not play in the Whites’ 1-0 loss to Southampton at St. Mary’s at the weekend.
According to BBC Sport, Southampton had 19 shots while Leeds mustered just three attempts on goal.
“You can’t go into a Premier League season and have a squad of players that means if only three of them are injured you’re going to struggle,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“What if one of them gets an injury that will rule them out for the whole season? What happens then?

“Leeds are in very, very big danger of going down this season. I’ve said it before and people didn’t believe me, now look.
“Southampton did to them what they have been doing to teams last season. Southampton battered them. You look at the stats of shots on goal, Southampton battered them.
“They’re in big trouble, Leeds. they need to get their star players back.
“You look at Raphinha, he’s been carrying them all season. They’re in big trouble, definitely, definitely in a relegation battle.”
Leeds have lost nine of the 11 Premier League games Phillips has missed since the start of last season.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side currently sit in 17th, three points above the bottom three.
