Leeds told to make U-turn after major Klaesson update - Agbonlahor
Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Leeds United to sign a more experienced goalkeeper than Kristoffer Klaesson.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward admitted he would be worried if the Whites had to rely on the 20-year-old if Illan Meslier suffered an injury.
Football Insider revealed yesterday (22 July) Leeds are in advanced negotiations to sign Klaesson from Norweigan side Valerenga.
The Whites have offered the young stopper a contract and a deal is edging closer.
The club are in need of a new first-team goalkeeper after Kiko Casilla joined Elche on a season-long loan earlier this month.
Leeds turned their attention to Klaesson after pulling the plug on a move for Freddie Woodman of Newcastle United.

Asked whether Klaesson is the right man to be Meslier’s deputy, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I’d go for somebody with more experience, to be honest.
“Any player can get injured at any time. Your number one keeper can get injured for the season on the opening day of the campaign.
“You have to be very careful with number two goalkeepers, they have to be quality. You look at Aston Villa and other teams, they try to get a quality number two in because you never know what can happen in football.
“I wouldn’t want to put that on a young goalkeeper. I’d rather have somebody with at least a few years of experience in a top league.”
Klaesson has kept 13 clean sheets in 57 games across all competitions for Valerenga.
The goalkeeper earned his first call-up to the senior Norway squad earlier this year but is yet to be capped.
