Pundit makes '100%' Raphinha transfer claim he is 'sure of' after Leeds latest

Paddy Kenny has claimed “big clubs” will be circling Leeds United in a race to sign Raphinha in upcoming transfer windows.

The former Leeds goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 24-year-old’s performances for Brazil will have caught the eye of talent spotters from Europe’s elite.

Raphinha was a standout performer during the international break, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in three games.

Both of his strikes came in what was his first start for Brazil against Uruguay.

As revealed by Football Insider (13th October) Raphinha is one of three Leeds players on Liverpool’s radar.

The Reds, as detailed by this site, have shown interest in the newly-capped star since February this year.

Kenny insisted scouts would already be impressed by Raphinha’s form for Leeds.

However, he admitted the winger’s displays for Brazil will have him in a transfer tug-of-war among European giants.

Asked if Raphinha’s international displays would have other clubs interested, Kenny told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Yeah, 100 per cent.

“Listen, once you’re in that international eye, obviously at club level people know what he’s doing.

“But I think if he can go out there and produce for Brazil and get a regular spot in their team, then there’s doubt.

“No disrespect to Leeds but there will be some big, big clubs challenging for trophies, year in, year out, that will be interested in him. I’m sure of that.”

Raphinha has scored nine goals and contributed nine assists in 38 appearances for Leeds to date.

He missed the 1-0 defeat to Southampton after travelling back from international duty.
