Pundit makes 'devastating' Rice claim after 'big' West Ham reveal from Moyes

Paul Robinson has claimed West Ham midfielder Declan Rice could be classed as “the best all-round midfielder in the Premier League on current form”.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Spurs and England number one heaped praise on the 22-year-old for the “amazing” attacking attributes he’s added to his game.

Rice starred on Sunday as the Hammers thrashed Aston Villa 4-1.

The centre-midfielder contributed a goal and an assist at Villa Park to take his season tally to three of each in 13 appearances across all competitions this term.

As quoted by Football.London (31st October), lauded the England international who “carries a big responsibility” for his team.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of Rice’s progression, Robinson said:

“Rice is up there as the best all-round midfielder in the Premier League on current form. He is playing in a team that is flying right now.

“I think the partnership with him and Kalvin Phillips with England is fantastic.

“I know Rice is still very young but he is proven now. This season he has taken on responsibility at both ends of the pitch.

“He has always been great at sitting in front of the back four and protecting the defence. But, this season he has shown he has a lot more to his game.

“He is a destroyer but he is also now a goal threat and a creator. His vision for a through ball is amazing. He has shown that he can be devastating higher up the pitch as well as in a deep-lying role.”
