Pundit makes 'huge' Victor Orta claim after journalist's Leeds United exit update
Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on Leeds United sporting director Victor Orta amid interest from Chelsea.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said Orta, 43, and Jesse Marsch deserve “a huge amount of credit for the business they did in the summer.”
The Yorkshire club appointed Orta as their director of football in May 2017.
The Spanish recruitment chief helped Leeds achieve promotion to the Premier League in the 2019-2020 campaign.
According to The Telegraph‘s Matt Law (20 September), Orta is on a list of potential candidates to become the new sporting director of Chelsea.
It comes after the London club missed out on luring top target Christoph Freund from RB Salzburg.

When asked by Football Insider how big a blow it would be for Leeds to lose Orta, Campbell said: “Listen, Leeds had to get the transfer window right because of how they finished last season.
“They also lost [Kalvin] Phillips and Raphinha, two of their best players. Orta and Jesse Marsch deserve a huge amount of credit for the business they did in the summer.
“If Chelsea want Orta it will be difficult for Leeds. There is a lot of good sporting directors out there. They make decisions but they are not the be all and end all.
“I do not see it being too much of a problem for Leeds if he left.”
