Pundit makes 'incredible' Salah claim as twist touted in Liverpool contract talks
Kevin Campbell has claimed Liverpool may struggle to meet Mohamed Salah’s wage demands amid contract talks at Anfield.
The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said Salah had “earnt” a new deal at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp confirmed last month (20th August) the club are in discussions over a new deal for the 29-year-old.
The Athletic report the new contract would make Salah, who is currently on £200,000-a-week, the club’s highest-ever paid player.
However, Campbell has questioned whether Liverpool will be willing to meet the winger’s demands.
He suggested another club might be willing to gazump the Reds with a mega-money deal.

“Well, he’s earned it,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“Mo Salah has been incredible for Liverpool Football Club, his goal ratio is up there with anyone.
“If anyone deserves that contract, it’s him. Whether Liverpool pay him accordingly – I don’t know.
“That’s going to be the sticking point in these negotiations.
“He could get what he’s asking for wherever he wanted to go.”
The Merseyside giants have already secured Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho, Alisson and Virgil van Dijk to new deals recently.
Salah has won the Premier League and the Champions League during his spell on Merseyside.
He has scored 127 goals in 206 games for Liverpool since joining in 2017.
Salah is Liverpool’s fourth-highest all-time Premier League scorer, behind Steven Gerrard, Michael Owen and Robbie Fowler.
The Egyptian has begun this season in inspired form, notching two goals and contributing two assists as Liverpool remain unbeaten.
