Alan Hutton has predicted Ole Gunnar Solkjaer could face the sack "soon" after watching Manchester United lose to Leicester City.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Aston Villa defender insisted the 48-year-old has failed to make his team of "superstars" gel together.

The Red Devils slumped to a 4-2 defeat at the King Power Stadium despite taking the lead through Mason Greenwood.

Jamie Vardy and Patson Daka both netted late on to seal the three points for Brendan Rodgers' side.

Hutton, who was in attendance at the game for the BBC, admitted United looked like a team of individuals rather than a team.

He insisted the manager plays a "massive part" in ensuring there is cohesion and teamwork between his players.

Asked if he thought Solskjaer's position was under threat at Old Trafford, Hutton told Football Insider's Russell Edge: "He must be soon.

"He must be feeling the pressure anyway. I always think that with the squad that he's got there, the pressure was always going to mount on him. They've got difficult games coming up so we'll have to wait and see.

"For me, sitting in the stadium and watching them, there is no doubt they've got a team full of superstars. I think that's how they play.

"They don't really play as a team, it's all individual stuff. There might be a moment of brilliance from Fernandes or Ronaldo, brilliant.

"But it doesn't seem they're playing together as a unit. I think that's what is letting them down.

"The manager is a massive part of that. At the end of the day, he sets them up the way he wants them to play. The philosophy of the team and everything just doesn't seem to be there at the moment.

"It just seems like they're relying on individual brilliance."
