Pundit suggests Conte is 'coming to Newcastle' after Ryder's update
Frank McAvennie predicts Newcastle will appoint Antonio Conte as their new manager.
The former West Ham hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claims the former Inter Milan manager is the Magpies’ best option.
Steve Bruce remains in charge of Newcastle and, as per The Chronicle’s Lee Ryder, is expected to face the media on Friday ahead of Sunday’s clash with Tottenham.
Bruce was under pressure even before the Saudi-led takeover of the club was completed last week.
Conte, who left Inter Milan at the end of last season is just one high-profile name whom Newcastle could target.
McAvennie “has a feeling” Conte will replace Bruce and claims he is the ideal candidate.

“I have a feeling Mr Conte is coming,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I have a wee feeling he wants to come back to the Premier League.
“He’s what Newcastle need, he will bring a whole team with him who know who to win things.
“He’s done it in the Premier League before, he has to be the best out of work manager out there. Conte’s a magnificent manager, the best around, full stop.
“That seems to be the decision Newcastle are looking to make. They have to take their time though.
“I think Conte is the right man but he might not be. A director of football might want someone else.
“The new guys have to get this one right, their first decision has to be a positive one.”
Newcastle remain winless in all competitions this season.
They face Tottenham on Sunday in front of a full St James’ Park with tickets selling out the day after the takeover was completed.
