Pundit 'sure' on Ange Postecoglou joining Premier League club after Celtic twist

Celtic boss Ange Postecgolou is on the managerial shortlist of several Premier League sides.

That’s according to former Rangers and Scotland boss Alex McLeish, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Hoops boss’ future.

On 13 September, as quoted by the Herald, Postecoglou said he is “paying no attention” to reports linking him with Graham Potter’s old job at Brighton.

In another interview with Optus Sport on 21 September, the Hoops boss shut down talk of a move to “a big club”, quipping, “I’m already at a big club mate”.

However, McLeish claims there is a very real chance that Postecoglou will end up in the Premier League.

“If he keeps up the momentum of what he did last year then absolutely, he is going to be a catch for some of the Premier League teams,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Ben Wild.

“It’s the richest league in the world. Rangers and Celtic are two of the biggest clubs in the world, no doubt about it.

“Considering the fanbase and where they could be if they played in England or any other top league, they would surely still be successful.

“I can definitely see Postecoglou, if he manages Celtic to these levels, he will be on a few teams shortlists. I’m sure he would like to try the Premier League at some stage.”

Celtic sit two points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

They lost their first league game for 364 days last weekend against St Mirren (18 September).
