Pundit: This may be real reason for Dele Alli woes after Tottenham source's behind-the-scenes reveal
Alan Hutton has claimed Nuno Espirito Santo has failed to get the best out of Dele Alli at Tottenham this season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs defender admitted the 25-year-old “looks lost” under the Portuguese boss.
Alli has started all six of Spurs’ league games this season but was hooked at half-time in the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal.
As revealed by Football Insider (28th September), Spurs are still open to selling the England international.
However, the north Londoners do not expect to strike a deal in January and will likely wait until next summer.
Spurs sources have told this site Alli is difficult to manage behind the scenes and is an inconsistent trainer too.

Hutton suggested the attacking midfielder may be frustrated and confused by what Nuno wants from him.
“I had high hopes for him at the beginning of the season,” Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“A new manager coming in, he was really working hard in the off-season. I thought this is his time to shine.
“Obviously, Nuno’s tried him in that number eight position, if you want, using his athleticism to get up and down the pitch. It just looks at the moment he’s not too sure where he fits into that team.
“Does Nuno want him to go and attack? To get in the box like that year he scored all the goals? Is he a midfielder? We’re not really sure where he fits into this plan.
“It looks difficult for him because at the moment he’s not really giving much. He looks a little bit lost to me as if he, as a player, doesn’t really know what to do.
“I think that showed within the midfield performance of the three (v Arsenal). They were all over the place.
“It’s been tough for him. We know he’s a fantastic player but it’s just about trying to find that right position for him and getting the best out of him.”
