Pundit thrilled by 'big' Elliott news confirmed by Liverpool in last 24 hours
Harvey Elliott will be “buzzing” he is back training on the grass and could return to action for Liverpool before Christmas, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-England and Aston Villa forward delivered his verdict after Elliot was spotted back on the grass training.
Liverpool shared a video on their Twitter account yesterday (November 15) of the teenager running at their new training base as he took the next step in his rehabilitation program.
He has been out with a fractured ankle after he suffered the injury against Leeds United at Elland Road over two months ago.
It came out at the worst possible time for Elliott who had featured in Liverpool’s opening four Premier League games and looked set for a breakout campaign.
“There’s nothing better when you’re injured than getting out on the grass,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“Just to get out there, you’re close to the players that are training and you know you’re not far off. He’ll be buzzing with that.
“He’ll be hoping to be back playing before Christmas.
“It’s a psychological boost. Even if it’s just a little bit of running and a little bit of turning, it’s a big thing. Just touching the ball, not even kicking it, is a big thing for your confidence.”
Elliott has played 13 times across all competitions for Liverpool and spent last season on loan at Blackburn Rovers.
The 18-year-old is under contract at Anfield until the summer of 2026.
