Pundit verdict on European club signing Cristiano Ronaldo after Man United picture emerges - 'it's a lot of money'
Kevin Campbell has urged Cristiano Ronaldo to “get his head down” and stay at Man United for one more season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker does not believe any Champions League clubs are willing to pay the 37-year-old’s sizeable wages.
Ronaldo has told the United hierarchy he wishes to leave this summer for a club in the Champions League.
According to Sky Sports (27 July), the Red Devils will listen to offers for the Portugal international even though their public stance is that he is not for sale.
On Saturday (30 July), Ronaldo posted a picture on his personal Twitter of him training with some of United’s youngsters.
When asked by Football Insider why top European clubs are not interested in signing the striker, Campbell said: “It is a lot of money.

“It is a lot of money to invest in somebody who is 37, nearly 38.
“Ronaldo is one of the best to ever do it. But there comes a time where you have to look at it and say, ‘Not for me.’ I think that is what we are seeing now.
“The clubs that can afford to pay him his wages and want him are probably outside of Europe.
“He will not want to do that though. He would rather stay in Europe.
“If I was him I would get my head down at stay at Man United.”
