Pundit 'very surprised' by West Ham insider news on Origi swoop
Paul Robinson would be “very surprised” if West Ham paid £15million to sign Divock Origi from Liverpool this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one suggested a lower fee could be agreed with the Merseyside club because of “their current financial situation”.
According to Irons insider ExWHUemployee (19th July), the Hammers are considering a move for the Belgium international.
The Reds have slapped a £15million price tag on Origi, as they look to generate transfer funds through selling some of their fringe players.
A potential sticking block in a deal could be the striker’s wages after he put pen to paper on a lucrative new contract in July 2019.
When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the potential transfer, Robinson said: “I’d be very surprised if West Ham pay £15million for him.

“I know Liverpool will want that because of their current financial situation but you cannot demand that for a player who has barely played any football over the past 18 months. He’s been a bit-part player.
“David Moyes is looking to sign at least one striker, we know that. They never replaced Haller and they cannot go into next season with just Michail Antonio. He was given too big of a burden to carry last year. It is an area they are going to strengthen in.
“Would they pay £15million for Origi though? I cannot see that.”
