Radrizzani goes to huge lengths to keep senior man at Leeds next season - report

Andrea Radrizzani has gone to great lengths to keep Ben Mansford at Leeds United despite headhunting a new chief executive, according to a report.
The Yorkshire Evening Post claim joint-owner Radrizzani has offered Mansford “new roles at the club in a bid to make him stay”.
But former sports lawyer Mansford, who joined Leeds from Barnsley last June, has rejected those possibilities and made it clear he will quit Elland Road on 31 May after being replaced as CEO of the Championship giants.
It has been widely reported that Leeds have agreed a deal with West Ham marketing chief Angus Kinnear to take over as the new chief executive when the season ends.
Nevertheless, Mansford appears to be leaving the Championship giants on good terms as he spoke highly of the club in an outgoing message on the official Leeds website on Sunday.

The executive is confident that the club are on their way back to the holy grail of the Premier League, despite ending the season one place and five point short of the play-off places following a final-month collapse.
“I feel that once the dust settles, the history books will show this season was the start of the club’s journey back to the Premier League,” said Mansford to the official website.
“Not only did this season bring together a team of players that the fans could unite behind but you secured a proper and truly appropriate new custodian of Leeds United in Andrea.
“I would like to start by saying a huge thank-you to Garry Monk, his backroom staff and all the players who have represented Leeds United during this season. It is a very special group which has reconnected with the fans and followed Garry in to battle every week.”
Radrizzani is expected to complete his full takeover of Leeds imminently as he puts the finishing touches to the deal that will see him buy out fellow co-owner Massimo Cellino’s half-share.
It is not known if Mansford, who spent three years at Barnsley before joining Leeds, has another job lined up.
In other Leeds United news, it can be exclusively revealed that the club registered a new signing last month.
