Manager Rafa Benitez has insisted that Newcastle will have to sell before they delve further into the transfer market.
The Magpies have had some difficulty in the summer window on their return to the Premier League with just six players making the move to St. James’ Park.
Meanwhile, only Florian Thauvin and Daryl Murphy have left for fees with the likes of Sammy Ameobi, Vurnon Anita, Yoan Gouffran and Matz Sels all departing on free transfer, or loans.
Now, Benitez has told in his Friday press conference, as quoted by Chronicle chief Lee Ryder via his personal Twitter account that Newcastle’s summer business now depends on how many leave.

This transfer update will of course leave Newcastle fans disappointed as they have seen fellow promoted clubs Huddersfield and Brighton buy players, including breaking their transfer records without the need to sell.
The Magpies’ league rivals are also spending vast sums without making any back through sales and the north east club could find that they are left behind if they don’t follow the others.
Newcastle started the Premier League campaign with a 2-0 defeat against Tottenham, which was marred by a red card to midfielder and captain Jonjo Shelvey and supporters will certainly be hoping for more in comings before the deadline in 13 days.
