'Rafa could make him a world beater' - Newcastle fans demand club swoops for dazzling attacker

Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to demand the club to re-sign Hatem Ben Arfa after it was confirmed that he will leave Paris Saint-Germain when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Ben Arfa, 31, is known for his dazzling technical ability but injuries have scuppered what could have been an outstanding career for the 15-times France international.

The former Magpies attacker has not played for PSG since last April when he scored a brace against Avranches in the Coupe de France and he announced on his personal Instagram account on Thursday that he will be on the move this summer when his deal at the Stade des Princes expires.

“Soon the end of my adventure at PSG, despite difficult times, I am happy to have worn this jersey, I will keep wonderful memories with my teammates and through this message I take the opportunity to thank the many supporters,” he said.

Ben Arfa played for Newcastle between 2010 and 2015, scoring 14 goals in 86 appearances across all competitions.

However injuries plagued his spell at St James’ Park before he was sent on loan to Hull and was ultimately released before signing for Nice.
