Randal Kolo Muani is a surprise striker on Liverpool‘s radar as they plan to sign a replacement for Hugo Ekitike following his serious injury.

Kolo Muani has struggled to make an impact on loan at Tottenham this season and is not set to stay in North London beyond the summer.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a shock switch to Liverpool ahead of next term as PSG plan to let him leave on a permanent deal.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Kolo Muani is on the Reds’ radar as they seek to sign cover for the injured Ekitike.

It remains to be seen if he will be part of Liverpool’s transfer plans, but a new striker is set to be signed regardless this summer, with Ekitike likely sidelined until next year.

Kolo Muani has scored five goals in 36 appearances for Spurs across all competitions while failing to nail down a consistent starting place in attack under three different managers.

He is known to be on Liverpool’s list of potential striker additions due to the likely lower fee involved, but is not a top target and seems set to return to PSG and stay overseas rather than remain in the Premier League.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “It’s a surprise link. I don’t think many people expected this one.

“Muani has had a difficult season at Tottenham and obviously it doesn’t look like that move will be made permanent from Paris Saint-Germain.

“Liverpool might be forced into the market to bring in cover for Ekitike with his long-term injury. We’re not sure when he will be back…it’s looking more and more likely that it will be 2027.

“They might be looking at cheaper options to see who they can bring in to strengthen their attacking options. I would be surprised if they did pursue a move for Kolo Muani.”

Curtis Jones considering Liverpool exit after lack of playing time

Liverpool could be set for an exodus of first-team stars this summer after a disappointing follow-up campaign to their title win.

Sources have exclusively told Football Insider that Jones is unhappy at Liverpool due to the lack of game time afforded to him so far this season.

He has only started 13 Premier League games in 2025-26, and could be tempted to leave his boyhood club if more midfield signings are made in the summer.

Joe Gomez and Federico Chiesa are both also likely to leave the club in the coming months after each enduring tough seasons.
