Rangers ace Aribo 'well known' to Premier League scouts amid Ferguson transfer claim - McLeish
Alex McLeish has claimed Barry Ferguson is right – Premier League scouts will be keeping a close eye on Rangers star Joe Aribo.
The former Gers manager, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 25-year-old would be “well known” to clubs and scouts south of the border after joining from Charlton Athletic.
Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show (20th September), Barry Ferguson claimed “a lot of clubs down south will be looking closely at” Aribo.
Aribo joined Rangers on a free transfer in 2019 after his contract at Charlton came to an end.
The 25-year-old has scored 19 goals in 105 games for the Ibrox club.
McLeish acknowledged that English sides would have been keeping an eye on Aribo since his move to Glasgow.

However, he insisted the “technically good” star is still developing under Steven Gerrard.
“I think he’s still learning against the ball and things like that, but he’s definitely a guy who catches the eye when he gets on the ball,” he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge.
“His movement, his touch – he looks a very technically good player.
“Obviously he came to Rangers from England, so he’ll be well known to scouts from when he was younger and they’ll be watching him.
“He’s shown a lot of consistency with Rangers and he has the ability to change a game.”
The Nigerian’s contract situation is similar to that of Gers stars Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Jack, with the trio’s terms expiring in 2023.
Aribo has notched two goals in seven Nigeria caps since his international debut in 2019.
He has already racked up 14 Rangers appearances in all competitions this term both in central midfield and on the right flank.
