Announcement imminent: Rangers agree blockbuster 8-figure off-pitch deal

Rangers have agreed a bumper new kit deal that is in line to start next season.

The club issued a commercial update today that confirmed the announcement of a new kit and retail partner to replace Hummel is imminent.

Ibrox sources have told Football Insider that the deal is set to eclipse the current joint deal with Hummel and Elite which is worth nearly £10m in total.

Under the existing three-year agreement that began in 2018, Rangers are paid £2million-a-year by Elite plus royalty payments based on kit sales.

As part of the deal, Hummel were also named sponsors of the training ground.

But Rangers revealed in February the final year of the contract would not be fulfilled amid a series of legal disputes.

The club have remained tightlipped over the identity of the new supplier amid speculation it could be Italian firm Macron or Andy Murray’s supplier Castore.

It is unlikely Rangers will be supplied by adidas as it was recently announced the German sportswear giant will create and manufacture Celtic’s from 1 July as part of a new five-year deal.

The Hoops claimed it is a Scottish record deal, which would mean it has eclipsed the £25m deal the club has with New Balance that ran from 2015 until the end of this season.

Celtic followed in the footsteps of Manchester United, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus in striking a deal with adidas.
