Rangers backed to complete Morgan Whittaker signing after third bid reveal - expert
Rangers will sign Morgan Whittaker before the end of the January window.
That’s according to former Gers right-back Alan Hutton, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Light Blues’ pursuit of Whittaker.
On 20 January, Football Insider revealed that Michael Beale’s side are readying a third bid for the 22-year-old after their second offer of £1.5million was rejected.
The Glasgow giants are keen to land a deal for the versatile forward before the window shuts after learning that he is keen to make the switch to Ibrox.
The winger returned to Swansea this month after a successful loan spell with Plymouth where he scored nine goals and provided seven assists before being recalled by the Welsh club.
Whittaker’s current contract at Swansea runs until 2025 after joining from Derby in 2021.

When asked if Beale will have alternatives in case the Whittaker deal falls through, Hutton told Football Insider: “I would be very surprised if he did not have other options on the table.
“This seems to be his number one choice. They have had a bid rejected which means they probably are not far off it. They probably will come in with another bid.
“He fits the bill, the same with the likes of Cantwell. He is young, he has been impressive this season so I think they will remain in for him.
“I would be very surprised if that one does not get over the line between now and the end of the window.“
