Rangers have long been linked with a move for Morgan Whittaker, and a bargain deal with Middlesbrough could be struck this summer.
Danny Rohl will be absolutely desperate to revamp the Gers’ entire squad, not just the forward line, ahead of next season, having now fallen out of favour in the Scottish Premiership title race.
This would undoubtedly take a lot of investment from 49ers Enterprises over the summer months, with big-money deals rather hard to come by in Scotland, even for the Old Firm duo.
Youssef Chermiti arrived for £8million from Everton, making him one of the Gers’ most expensive signings, but Whittaker’s signature could top that if Rangers’ transfer chiefs play their cards right.

The Light Blues have not yet been linked with a move this summer, but it is only a matter of time before the club reignite a move, especially given the manager’s previous experience in the Championship.
It is believed that Plymouth Argyle rejected a £7million move from the Gers in the summer of 2024, and having missed out then, there could be a brand-new chance to steal his signature.
Boro value the 25-year-old at £20million, which is likely out of the club’s budget, but with Kim Hellberg’s side now missing out on promotion to the Premier League, his price could come down.
