Old Firm stars Sean Goss of Rangers and Celtic’s James Forrest have both been named in the SPFL’s team of the week after their standout performances in last weekend’s Scottish Cup ties – with Forrest named as star man.
Hoops winger Forrest helped himself to a hat-trick in his side’s 3-2 win over Partick Thistle on Saturday before Goss assisted four of Rangers’ six goals in the 6-1 demolition of Ayr United on Sunday.
The SPFL confirmed the award on their official Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon.

Forrest has been in fantastic form for Brendan Rodgers’ side this season with 16 goals in 42 appearances so far as the Hoops look to win an historic back-to-back domestic treble.
On-loan midfielder Goss ran the show from midfield for Graeme Murty’s side at Somerset Park and was lucky not to get a goal of his own as he helped the Light Blues take a step closer to their first major trophy in seven years.
Both sides were rewarded with home ties against Championship opposition in the next round with Celtic welcoming Greenock Morton while the Gers host Paul Hartley’s Falkirk.
With both sides still in the competition, an Old Firm final remains on the cards in what could be one of the most explosive matches between the two sides in years with so much potentially at stake.
