Rangers loan deal for championship enforcer expected within next 48-hours - report

Rangers are closing in on a loan deal for Norwich City defender Russell Martin which could go through in the next 48-hours, according to a report
STV believe that the Canaries enforcer, who has been with the Champiosnhip side for the last eight years will join Jason Cummings on loan, who is also expected to sign on the dotted line in the near future.
Martin has only made seven appearances for Norwich in this campaign and it is thought he is surplus to requirements at Carrow Road.
Graeme Murty is keen to bring in reinforcements to shore up his backline which has the poorest record out of the Scottish Premier League’s top three teams.
Football Insider verdict:
Martin has made more than 280 outings for the Championship side and it is widely thought he will leave the club sooner rather than later. At 32, the Scot is in the twilight of his career and needs to move now in order to boost his chances of getting more game time – something he will accomplish with the SPL side. The defender has a wealth of experience and Murty will want the players to feed off that if they are going to stand any chance of catching Celtic in the race for the title.
In other Rangers transfer news, Cummings arrives at Glasgow airport ahead of transfer.
