Rangers expert suggests the real reason Ryan Kent is 'upset' at Ibrox
Alan Hutton has suggested interest from Premier League clubs may have “upset” Ryan Kent at Rangers.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers right-back said losing Kent in January would “hurt” the Ibrox club.
The 25-year-old has started seven games for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side across all competitions this season.
The midfielder has entered the final 12 months of his contract at the Glasgow club.
On 30 August, the Daily Mail reported that Leeds United are ready to reignite their interest in Kent as he approaches the end of his deal.
The Premier League club tried to buy Kent in 2020 but he was happy to remain in Scotland at that time.

As quoted by the Daily Record in July, Van Bronckhorst said he is hopeful Kent, alongside Alfredo Morelos, will sign a new deal with the club.
When asked for his assessment of Kent’s contract situation, Hutton told Football Insider: “Of course I’d love to see him sign a new deal.
“There’s definitely improvement there within his game, we can all see that, he’s obviously working hard. Again he’s a player that makes Rangers better when he’s on top form, so you don’t want to lose him either.
“He’s another one where I think there was a lot of speculation with the likes of Leeds, possible move back to the Premier League. That can upset players, it can make it difficult for them but ultimately they have to be playing in the Rangers team and playing well either for a contract or if you do want that move.
“To lose him in January is only going to hurt Rangers in the long run. Ultimately they’re going for the league title and you can’t be losing your best players.“
